3D. Scholarships and Financial Aid

The University of Detroit Mercy maintains an Office of Student Financial Aid to assist students in acquiring information and preparing applications for financial aid opportunities offered by the College, the State of Michigan, and the Federal Government.

Financial assistance for graduate students is available through grants for tuition and other expenses, loans, and campus work opportunities.  Programs listed here are typical of those available.  Current students and candidates for admission interested in the eligibility requirements and time deadlines for these programs should contact the Financial Aid Office.

The College participates in the following Federal Government aid programs:

-           National Direct Student Loan

-           College Work Study

-           Bureau of Indian Affairs Grant

The College participates in State of Michigan programs:

-           Michigan Tuition Grant Program

-           Michigan Guaranteed Student Loan

-           State Direct Student Loan

Further information on scholarship and financial aid processing can also be found at http://www.udmercy.edu/finaid/.  Questions can be directed to the Financial Aid Office: (313) 993-3350.

Note: Some financial aid (e.g. work study) is limited and therefore is distributed at a first come, first serve basis. It is suggested that students who are interested in financial aid speak with their financial aid advisor as soon as possible.

3E. Student ID and Parking

Students are required to get a UDM picture identification card and a parking permit.

These can be obtained from the Titan Information Center located in the 1st Floor Student Union. Phone (313)578-0341.

Students are required to obtain a new ID card sticker at the beginning of each new semester. A copy of the student’s current schedule is necessary in order to obtain this sticker. This sticker, which goes on the back of the UDM picture ID card, allows students access to university resources (e.g., library, computer labs). The sticker can be obtained from the Titan Information Center or from the Circulation Desk at the University’s main library.
